Saturday the weather was exceptionally good and pilots gained enough altitude to leave the hill and head for home. Ravi, Bandya, Sandeep, Doc Pathak (yes he is in the house) and our very own 16 year’ old Sunith Rao braved the instability and got all the way back to Govitri the nearest village to Native Place
Vrinda whipped up some delicious gajar halwa (desert) on Sunday afternoon after which we took off the Shelar site for some Sunday sunset flying. I clocked in my longest flight yet at 2 hours 10 minutes! We returned sated our smiles reflecting fulfilling flights 🙂

How independent are we she asked if we are not allowed to express ourselves and share our concerns about the water of our own lakes being chanellised to industrial towns that have polluted their own water sources. She sure had a point there
I flew about freely, ensconced in comforting friendly air all around me, singing to myself, watching people takeoff below me and work their way up. Soon the restitution kicked in and it was lifting all over. I spotted a long billed vulture and was thrilled with the sighting. It flew over my glider and I followed it happily for a while singing loudly wondering if it could hear me
