“Thank you so much. It was the most awesome thing I’ve ever done” “Ever since i was born i wanted to fly” “I often dream of flying” Not often do you…
It’s been a tradition since 2005, as summer comes to an end and the monsoon season looms the Nirvana Adventures Paragliding community get’s together to unfurl our wings for the last flight of the season, give thanks.
Back at the takeoff – The winds were strong as is expected for this time of the year – Lots was going on – accuracy competitions, site cleanup, ground handling displays, aerial seed ball bombing, tandem paragliding rides.
We had a great turnout on the weekend with students coming in from Kerala, Bangalore, Kodikanal, Pune, Gujarat and Mumbai. Being summer the winds are strong in the early afternoon and the paragliding training and the solo flying starts later in the evening. The days are spent chilling in a cosy nook within the guesthouse, or the garden or by the lake with a bunch of fellow students and pilots. Students pilots and guests enjoyed an idyllic weekend exploring the garden, the lake and the paragliding site by day and joining the gathering on the roof for dinner and interesting conversations.
Bringing in the New Year on a high, quite literally, was on the agenda for 2017. . The usual suspects gathered at Tower hill and monkeyed around while we waited for the right moment to take off. And it wasn’t just the adults excited to fly. The youngest member of the Nirvana family was one of the first to take off. And his enthusiasm was definitely infectious!
Hectic days at the flying site and peaceful times at the Native Place guesthouse ( it’s no secret that we all love being there midweek)
